Have you calibrated the sensors?
otherwise erratic readings may be from interference in the ground loop. Does the loom you're using have grounding points on the head or do they go back to the ecu?
ECU: Adaptronic
Air temp sensor: from AE92
Water temp sensor: from AE101
Using my laptop, the water and air temp readings seam to be erratic. And of course a low water temp reading effects the fuel trim and the running of the motor. Higher revs seam to instantly raise water temp readings.

No grounding points at all on the head or body. Just connected to the ECU. Same sensor earth loop as MAP and TPS from memory.
yeah map, tps, water and air use the same earth point for the adaptronic. yeah i would check the calibration is ok other than that check your voltage is stable.
originally mine was eratic cause i didnt have the voltage sensor wire hooked up. fixed that it all went well
also maybe the adaptronic doesnt like tasmanian air and water hahaha
What is this voltage sensor wire you talk of? Can't see it in the wiring diagram. Didn't know there was one.
Looking at the diagram, the TPS earth is seperate to the MAP and water and air temps. I will have to check I wired it up like this.
I am not using the J2 6-way connector at all.
so on the j2 there are 2 earths. you arent using the the j2 connector so prob dont have the earths bolted down.
sorry i meant the voltage sensor wire on my alternator
Maybe I should plug the J2 in and connect the earths. It's not even pluged in right now.
my air temp sensor is reading -32C deg when its 42c deg lol i need to test and put numbers in, did you do that?
TPS ground has its own wire. If you connected it into the ground wire loop that is brown, then that could explain the fluctuation with revs on the engine. As the tps increases from zero the ADC readings in the ecu will increase. If there was interference with this in the brown ground loop then the temps shown would decrease as the ADC values increased.
Does this make sense?
