Default please help me- diff nose hitting body + T3 coil-overs anyone?

    hey guys

having a bit of trouble and have a few questions,

first off car is: ADM 86 sr20det

my first is that i just put an r31 diff in with custom one piece tailshaft and when i acceleate hard or go over big bumps my tailshaft smashes the tunnel i have pergeot shocks n chopped EF springs and the car isnt even that low i want like 10mm lower...now to fix this i was thinkings either custom sprngs with a high kg rating like 8 or 10 kg (i dont care about the ride its built to slide has s13 track coilovers in the front), or even better getting rear coilovers, any other suggestions?

putting T3 4-links and whiteline 20mm rear sway bar in asap if anyone thinks this my make a difference.

another question is im looking at T3 rear coilovers but havent heard anything about them and was wondering people who have them what they think of them? or even eople who know what their talkin bout if they are any good?

thats it for now thanks alot for taking time to help me out

The geometry of the diff mounts is probably a bit wrong. I don't know what the deal is with Skyline diffs, maybe the mounts are custom, or maybe you just put it in like it is. It's likely that the nose of the diff is pointing up, causing the tailshaft to be too close to the tunnel.

The fix would be to get adjustable top links. Ones with rod ends would also help reduce movement. To start with adjust them so the pinion is closer to horizontal, or maybe pointing down. (Not 100% sure on this, there is lots of theory about).

If you have axle tramp, get those bolt on addapters for the lower mounts on the diff. This brings the lower links back to horizontal. Also, check the condition of your shocks or adjust them.

T3 Coilovers do not go very low without modification...

Jonny good point but no, a complete no. I did the diff conversion and I can guarantee that it's exactly right.

Why adjust the top arms instead of the bottom ones?

blair how low are we talking here? any idea on the mods required?

they go fuckall low unless you clear more room of the cup spacer sam.

and the agx arnt really hard enough to control the car with th very limited stroke they have left when used low. and hey are NOTHINzG like captive.

if the car isnt THAT low, then there must be some other problem for the diff snout to hit the floor????

if not, cut it and plate above the diff snout... not overly hard, spesh for sammyboy

If they're any thing like my TRD ones, I had them on the lowest setting and it was still quite high, like, my 220mm front springs were full low, and it was higher then that by a lot.
I cut the rear lower shock mount off and moved it lower.. Pretty dodgy, but it's nice and low now.

well the brackets are the same as the stock diff bit as suggested the nose could of tilted upwards because of how much it's lowered. We can adjust that when you get your linkage kit and see where that ends up.

Also I never checked but whats on-top of where it's hitting? is that like the back seat area or something?

When the snout of the diff points up and hits the floor, it's often a sign of lots of power from the engine, or worn bushes, or both. My friends RA23 Celica was all standard except lowered, and the diff hit the floor when being driven very hard. New bushes in the 4 control arms may have fixed it. Or solid spherical bearings.
