Default Fiberglass Dash Covers, know of any?

Found this when looking at go fast-a bits on nengun,

now befor you all pipe up, yes they are a wank, but, if i was able to get some in fiberglass...

    1. they would be less costly ($630 is a bit too much)
    2. protect uncracked dash
    3. able to be painted what ever colour/design you want
    4. removable (to clear defect for non padded dash, even tho you will have many things under the hood to worry about)

So all in all i think they are a good idea, so dose anyone know if some one make them in fiberglass or other cost effective material?

Or where i could get some made up? (in the end i may just have to make some for myself...but...cbf)

Just buy the Bee-R one. Seen one in real life... they're pretty pimp.

And by the time you add in the cost of all the fibreglass, time to make the plugs and moulds, using a stock dash to make the mould out of, all the time involved... id rather fork out the $630 and be done with it.

well the reason i want it is to paint it then pinstripe it (love 86's but love hot rod culture...see it as a mid ground)

would talk to a friend about vac forming plastics, may cost a bit to set up but i figure if i want one...some one else may want one too...

Let me know if you think they are a good idea?!?

there was a company in aus doing fibreglass dash's but i think it was a "have to order x ammount" at a time to be viable. also you had to cut out all the holes for vents/clock etc yourself....

found the website, might aswell send him a sms/email

Yeh i seen that b4, i saw his demo 86 with a CA18 in it, the thing is you need a padded dash (at least in VIC you do) and if you get picked up for it thats whole dash out stock back in, then if you can be bothered fiberglass one back in. If its just a fitted shell thats like 1-2mm thick over the top held on with double sided tape (or someting like that) you can just pull it off get defect cleared stick it back on, and even then if you explained its just a thin plastic cover to the cops they would prob let it go.

plus it will cover dash cracks and isnt one of them crappy rug things...
