    Default Hilux mini/full spools

Hey guys anyone ever fitted these to your g/f series diffs. What's your opinions on then for drifting and tracking as I am considering getting a full spool soon. I run a g series LSD from
a supra, it's spins singleggers 50% of the time so pretty sik of it. Also can't seem to find mini spools for the diff for some reason.

Just get your LSD rebuilt.. lockers are a pain.. Plus a G series spool was like $400 last time I looked. Only real advantage is they save a heap of weight.. If you want a locked rear, just weld a single spinner center up.

I have been told by 5 diff places that they don't like rebuilding the stock LSD for toyotas
if I were to get a full spool does it replace my center? How do I keep my 4.1 diff ratio

the 4.1's are two seperate pieces consisting of the crown-wheel and pinion, they are attached to the actual "centre" and pinion carrier via bolts.

if you were to get a full spool. you would simply unbolt the "4.1's" and bolt them up to the full spool/pinion carrier.

if you have never touched pinion carrier before, i wouldnt recommend touching one as there is a lot of finesse that goes into aligning a pinion with a crown-wheel but thats a whole other bag of cookies and should be left to the experts.

Ok understand now , I was quoted 500 just for the full spool so contemplating wether to weld it or spool it. I've never driven a car with a full spool does it feel just like a locker whilst turning slow

Spool is exactly the same as a locker. Just gets ride of all the extra metal thats not used..

its exact same and a full spool is much stronger then a weldie.

if you've got the cash go for a full spool, if not just get your open centre welded as it will drive the same.
