Default kouki & zenki axle Q

okay heres something that may be interesting,

kouki is known as bigger by 1.50mm or so from the spline

as zenki is around 23mm thick from the spline

is the body of the kouki axle shaft physically bigger than zenki or just axle splines slightly larger?
like has anyone tried fitting kouki axles in a zenki housing,

zenki axles will slot in kouki centres fine, until you start going places.
they will strip the teeth like a piece of cheese (soft cheese like Brie or Camembert) because the interference is not tight enough.

kouki axles will not fit in zenki centres because they are simply alot larger (in diff terms).

    it just dont work yo.

mind you, your question asks if anyone has tried this, and to answer your question no i have not, but this is what i gather would happen.

no this is for purposes of me looking at new bearings, cause on toyodiy it says it goes by DRUM or DISC not by an axle size up or anything ? mines zenki with jdm disc rear end

well thats what im getting at like it only lists under drum and disc which seams to imply to me that their axles are the same size just thicker at the spline ?
the pic im posting up will show you what i mean, and will also show that disc rear end is gay and costs a crapload more for parts

oh sorry, wasnt sure what you meant.
but yes, drum bearings are single row, and disc bearings are double row (wider).
there is no difference between zenki and kouki bearings, the difference lies in whether the diff is disc brake equipped, or drum brake equipped.
which also explains why the Disc Brake bearings are almost double the price (because it is double the amount bearing).

    hope that helps

because the people who convert drum brake T series dont use ae86 Disc brake equipment to complete the conversion. they often use some corona setup. that explains it.

the flange on the housing of a Disc brake T series differ to the flange used on the Drum brake items. this can be seen by the diagram u pulled from toyo DIY.
this in turn means the housings are different all together, in which the disc brake diffs also have a deeper recess to allow for the double row bearings.

do i make sense? im talking jargen lol
