    Default wheel stuck on hub

this happened to me the other day when i tried taking my wheel off and thought i would post up.

took off the wheel nuts, which werent on too tight but the wheel wouldnt come off. tried pulling and pushing, ended up getting a sledge and crow bar out but still wouldnt come off.
in the end i got out the ol grinder and drinded a small nick on the side of the center of the rim and started levering it off. took me a good half an hour after everything. luckily it was a cheap $10 wheel which i think suited a fiasta.

has anyone else come across anything like this?...

    YUP.. I've had this happen..

It look from that photo thet the spigot park of the hub...The bit which the wheel locates on is just got a lottle too rusty... Some cars their is very little clearence between the wheel center and the hub..

I've seen wheels get stuck on just from a coat of paint... also from trying to take them off while hot... Never to the extremes of having to grind them though... Always been abit of movement so I could wiggle them off.

Yeah and once the paramedics are finished using the jaws of life to get the car off you crushed and mangled body you might be able to borrow them to get the wheel off!

yeah, best thing to do is sand all the rust of the locating hub and stick some grease on it when the wheel goes back on

Center hub hole would have been fractionally (~1mm) too small for the locating stub on the axle. You wouldn't have had a problem winding it on with the wheelnuts but getting it off would be a cunt.

Just a guess, but it's likely to be what happened, especially considering the wheel is for a fiesta.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
