i spoke to sprinterman and he said that he has done it a few times as it get the extra compression and better reving.
also cabletie has a 20v bottom end running in his trueno
Yes 20v & 16v blocks are identical
You just have to remember to swap the water pumps and housings & pipes
around to suit and also obviously the head gaskets too!

putting a 16v head on a 20v bottom end
the 16v heads have a bigger chamber than either of the 20v heads so you would lose compression

haha fair enough im not too sure just driving cableties car and ill find out more of what sprinterman does when i go in later in the week
Can you ask him something ? what pistons ? what head gasket ? did he mill the head ? what cams ?
As far as I know, and I've tried it, trying to run bigger cams with a .8mm HG, and 111 pistons didnt work. Is his setup all stock ? just curious...
I hope that didnt sound like I was coming off bad.. because I'm so not... just curious, you know. thanks
wow, dont know how i missed this thread...
But this is the exact reason i went with 20v bottom. blew my bigport and all the piping/manifolds/carbs etc were already there... why not gain a bit of free CR while i rebuild?
Have been running silvertop bottom end with .8mm HG and stock cams fine for quite a while now- Definitely more punch than any stocko bigport i've witnessed!
