    Yes 20v & 16v blocks are identical
    You just have to remember to swap the water pumps and housings & pipes
    around to suit and also obviously the head gaskets too!

    i spoke to sprinterman and he said that he has done it a few times as it get the extra compression and better reving.

    also cabletie has a 20v bottom end running in his trueno

    the 16v heads have a bigger chamber than either of the 20v heads so you would lose compression

    just repeating what sprinterman told me as im getting my motor rebuilt by him.

    and cable tie has this setup at the moment

    Can you ask him something ? what pistons ? what head gasket ? did he mill the head ? what cams ?

    As far as I know, and I've tried it, trying to run bigger cams with a .8mm HG, and 111 pistons didnt work. Is his setup all stock ? just curious...
    I hope that didnt sound like I was coming off bad.. because I'm so not... just curious, you know. thanks

    wow, dont know how i missed this thread...

    But this is the exact reason i went with 20v bottom. blew my bigport and all the piping/manifolds/carbs etc were already there... why not gain a bit of free CR while i rebuild?

    Have been running silvertop bottom end with .8mm HG and stock cams fine for quite a while now - Definitely more punch than any stocko bigport i've witnessed!
