remove pressure release valve, add shim behind the spring and reassemble, I use a washer with a 3mm height.

    Wham bam thankyou Gunner

PS check your pump has tight tolerances, due to their design they need to be in good nick to work well. So like no scoring on the faces etc

I bought a HKS "pressure up" kit for around $60. Comes with a new washer and a different spring.

Apparently give oil pressures of 2-3 bar @ 500-1000 rpm, and 6-7 bar @ 2500 rpm +. So about 10-12 more PSI @ full noise.

I currently have a different washer in there, My car currently makes around 90PSI with the boot in.

Will be installing this on a new oil pump, so wanted the new kit to go with it.

yeah whats that worth? I don't know why they would need a washer in conjuction with a new spring

sounds like a bit of a gimmick to me, though I suppose, if it wasn't high enough with the spring alone, then the washer could be added.

I'd rather the 60c washer over the $60 kit.

Bought it from RHD Japan. But Ive seen it ona few websites, and ebay.

Im already using the washer, but i figure with a new oil pump and the HKS kit, if I get over 100psi of oil pressure, then money well spent and cheap insurance. If it IS a gimmick and does what a 60c washer would do, I still have a fresh oil pump and it was only a $60 lesson learnt.

Doesn't the HKS kit come with a restrictor for the oil feed to the head also?

Nope, just the spring and the washer.

Wondering if the restrictor is something I should look at though. Didnt think of that.
