you will need ae86 steering arms
yeah figured out that the hard way, tried ta put them in there but wouldnt go,waist of time!cheers man
whats the part called that the bottom of the coilover struts bolt too?coulnt get them to line up at all,the holes for the bolts on the ae71 struts were 3mm bigger than the holes on the 86 coilovers, guessin i need this part from a sprinter?
The part you are talking about is the steering arm/knuckle.
As AE70 said, you will need AE86 steering arms to allow you to use the AE86 struts/coilovers as they have a different spacing compared to the KE/AE71 ones.
you can use xt130 steering arms if small amounts of lock doesn't bother you (cheapest).
next step up is ae86 steering arms (manual rack) for normal lock
then ae86 power steering arms more lock
for even more lock you can cut and shut ae86 ones or aftermarket such as the t3 knuckes.
if you're really dodgy you can modify the ae71/ke70 steering arms to fit and just use a smaller bolt on one side. I wouldn't recommend this though
will the ae71 brakes work on the 86 coilovers?last time i put ae struts in my panelvan i put jdm brakes aswell
no............
ok so got jdm brakes, and rca's.heres a pic of the bits i have,i want ta put the coilovers and brakes in this week, this is my daily so need it done in one shot!i never got the brake backing plates or caliper mountin plates with the brakes.will the ae71 stuff do or do i need to get those too?will the bolts i take out from ae71 setup do for puttin in the 86 gear??anyone spot anythin im missin?thanks!
