*remove radiator/shroud if in the way
*any belts that may need to be taken off
    *fan if it has one?
    *remove water pump
*clean up the rear housing ( guessing your replacing the front )
    *some form of gasket glue
    *new gasket
    *new waterpump on
*put everything else back on , leave for a day to let everything set?
*start car with no leaking water WIN.

Ive never actually replaced one on a 4k but have done so on my cressida and it's a piece of piss.
not really an easy/hard way to remove, only comes off one way.

yer 4k is possibly the easiest water pump to remove, since you dont have a timing belt in the way, and the timing chain is internal.

pretty much do what 86trd, take off stuff that look like its in the way, then put it all back.

also get a razor blade and clean up the block where the water pump mounts to it, its more important if you are only using a gasket (no goo) but its good to have everything clean anyway.
