Its not worth it dude, you have to ditch the ac, so you can mount the alternator there, and you won't notice that much difference, just use 2 inch pipe instead of 2.5, and a small core.

engine mounts are finished, engine, has been moved forward another 25mm, not much but gives me a bit more room for the rails, which I am strugglling with, but I'll get there.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Some constructive criticism would be appreciated from some of you engineers and fabricators out there.

You should have gone with the EA motor, then you would be able to mount the spare wheel in the engine bay

Time for the sunday lunch update.

Bit messy at the moment, but it's coming along. Just need to plate the firewall, where the new rail meets it, then plate up the rail itself, then pull it all down so I can weld it properly as it goes together again, oh and I need to trim where I plated the factory rail.

Then it's on to the otherside. Then the new tunnel, which will have to go the majority of the car, as the box does sit a little bit high, well higher than usual anyway.

Debating whether to make the crossmember part of the chassis, and make it all one piece by bracing etc, etc.
