Thanks for the offer matt, will keep it in mind.
the built engine is a while away, a long while. But it will be interesting to see what will happens with a very well prepped block, and sti internals. Nver bothered running std bits in one of my blocks, once I get these figure 8s knocked out for the deck, I'll put some good bearing and rings through it, and wind the fucker up.
Wait tha won't work, theres no where to put the fucking thing hahahaha.

Nah man, Thats still the shit version, once the drivers side is done, ill cut that side up and do that side. and then do the floor again.
Gunner, this version looks better, but I'm curious why your building all this strength in that area? Couldnt you make it lighter with 1.6mm steel? What are you doing about castor rod mounts? Because with what you've done you may as well improve those too... Rather than having a strong lca mount and a relatively flimsy bit hanging off the front.
Anyway keep at it, just trying to provoke some thought although you're probably already decided about this stuff![]()
it is 1.6mm, I don't think I would be able to get it any lighter to be honest.
Don't know where I'm going with castor, sawy bar mounts, I have made allowances for me to be able to mount in the stock position, just not stock bits, whether it goes that way, is a different story.
I'm happy with where its headed, wanted to get most of this rail done tonight, but it rained, bullshit rain.
Ah fair play looks more like 2mm in the pics. Rain sucks!
For castor you could just get rid of the stock rod, use an A-arm. Probably would limit your castor range. But presumably would keep castor angle nice throughout sussy travel
It had crossed my mind, but I wasn't sure whether I could set it up in the same layout as the original gear, and couldn't find info supporting it, so I haven't really gave it much more thought.
So I bought a tarp kit from supercheap, was $140, got it for $60, put it up, and it tore apart the first little bit of wind we got. a month and a half later this is what remains.
My point, don't buy crap from supercheap, can tear the thing like its a newspaper.
But as a consequence, I am still at the mercy of the weatherm which the last 3 days has been shit. Didn't even get to go to the drags cause it was cancelled. BUT this afternoon, it stopped raining, so I grabbed a beer (thanks cal) and got in about 20 minutes of work, I pulled the rail out and welded it a little bit then it pissed down, and I get wet, like clays mums snatch. Here is what I achieved.
Hopefully, tomorrow it is clear, and I can do shit.
