Thanks Mike, hopefully we will see some progress in the new year.
So awesome.
Good work on the rails, persistence ftw!
Haha thanks mate, couldn't count the amount of times i wanted to just give up, but persistance really is the key.

So if you've gone with a completly custom front cross member. Makes me wonder why you didnt design the front rails and x member to suit each other and leave clearance for the engine..
Obviously the choice of x member design came after the initial chassis rail design.. But now that you've decided to go down that road I fell like you could make everything so much simpiler/ neater and strong by intergrating everything together into a complimentery design..
Nothing is changing with the design of the rails. They don't need to change, they could be a tad lighter, but they are in no need of redesign. Theres always the should haves, and could haves, but those cars never get finished. The rails are done, need to finish the strut towers in the next few weeks, then on the ground, and in the workshop for the new year.
Theres no hiding from it when I can't get away from it
Found this, and thought of you...
Sorry, don't know how to direct link the picture so it displays..
So, its been near on 6 whole months since I touched this car, I guess thats a consequence of going back to work fulltime, building other peoples cars. 12hrs a day on cars is enough for anyone I would think.
Anyway, 2 weeks back at work after a week of for christmas/new years, I cracked the shits (like I usually do) and walked out. I won't go into details but now being employed by myself again, doing the odd conversion or turbo kit, has allowed me to venture into the dark depths of a jungle that has become my backyard, to visit my special little 86, and fuck isn't she in a bad way. Surface rust fucking everywhere. Guess I should have painted the raw bits of steel prior to trying to go back to a "normal" way of working.
So after a few hours of mowing, snipping, digging and beer drinking, I can finally access the car. Why is this such a cool update? Well, for the first time in 4 years, this little cum bucket, can finally go back on the ground, and I can put it on the one and only patch of concrete that I can use, its by no means straight (inclination of 17.8 degrees) but its concrete, and its hard, and not muddy. All I can really say about all of that is WOOOOOO. So tomorrow, after I get bored of GT5, and order an R33 halfcut for a customer, I am going to fit up the G series, slot in the front suspension, and wheels this little mole over to my lovely piece of concrete.
Then the mission begins, I'm not silly enough to try and make it to the WTAC to compete, I don't have 30k to throw at the car, so it just won't be possible. But I am going to try and get it there as a static display, by that time there should be a cage in it ( though that was supposed to happen in december 2011, family dramas put an end to that) there will be some cool shocks in it (courtesy of Chris at Shockworks) an engine and turbo setup should be nearing completion, and the start of an aero kit should start to come together by August 10th. So thats the plan, no big dreams, of a big push to have it ready to punish people at superlap, just a simple, easy to execute plan to get the car some exposure, and some more corporate backing.
So what do I need now? I want to hear from the haters, I know you're out there, I know you hate the car, and think it will never work, but you are the fuckers that push me further, and I truley love you for it so please haters, HATE ME
P.S Fuck I miss writing.
Haters can hate. This thing is gunna be a rig
