Had a rather long break where life got in the way.
Stuff is still happening and over the past few months the build has steadily kept going.
The end is near, 2 years of paying rego, almost at 3, so it's been motivation to get things done. So excited to finish and drive my car again.
PLMS Developments hooked me up with NISTUNE maps on the ECU.
Bonnet Latch looking ratty so sprayed it up. Need to remember to wear a the mask next time.
Mounting Fans to the S13 rad:
Bit bigger compared to the 86 one.
Shan made up some rad brackets:
Hmmm.. Inlet is bit too close to the Rad inlet. Some cutting/modding or a new inlet will need to be fabbed up for the engine.
Made up intercooler brackets and put back some panels. All fits phew.
Got bit side-tracked. This bit was a bit weather worn so some painting was done.
Custom tailshaft made to suit the VL Commodore diff and S14 gearbox.
Shaft installing. Thanks Shannon.
Fits, measured it right at least.
Put some loctite on these too.
New gaskets for the turbo, mounted it properly and tested the intake with a filter I had from the old engine.
The shifter sits a bit further but still feels natural. Put some new gearbox fluid in.
Handbrake was cut so requires a bit more force now.
Shifter is actually put in backwards so it sit forward on a slant. Covering up the holes.
Thinking my cluster setup will be a bit like this, S15 stock cluster + Stack Boost Gauge, keep'in it simple.
Next week I'll mount my battery, start putting some wiring back in, and send her off to get some custom cooler, dump and exhaust piping fabbed up. Can't wait. Excited.
