    Default Capa's 86

Hey thought id post some pics of my 86.

I bought this from Hao a little while ago.

I needed another car that was cheap on fuel to use as a daily, as my gtir goes through more fuel in a week than a v8 supercar. Oh did i mention it's also setup drift.

Got a rwc without much of a hassle and returned it to it's optimal state. Since then done a few other things to the car, I painted the rear bar black again, but I was lazy and didn't do the front. Got a dodgy bro's usb mp3 headunit from repco for some beats, sprayed a bit of primer here and there to slow down the rust a little. It really deserves a respray. One day soon.

Got some old centerlines for skid rims and after a good 3hrs polishing each wheel they are looking nice and shiny.

I'll post some updates and some pics if I remember, I got a few things to do this long weekend like making a new pod filter to plenum pipe out of some intercooler pipe. Maybe even tap a fitting for the breather.

So the plans are to goto drift, skidpan and sprint days as much as I can (afford lol) and get the seat time I need to be able to steer this thing.

So far I've been to a skidpan day run by Slidewize, at the Roadcraft driver training center in Gympie, which was a bit of a long drive but totally worth it as i think I learnt more in the first 30 mins than I did the whole time i've had the car. After driving a gtir for 4+ years it's been such a long time since iv'e even driven a rwd car, such a totally different feeling. But it is indeed much more fun driving the 86.

Going to try to get a spot at the next QR day on the 6th of July, which also happens to be my bday, can't wait for that. Would love to go on a cruise and meet up with some brisvegas peeps. Im from around Capalaba, If ya see me around don't be shy come say hi!

Here's a couple of pics and videos from a skidpan day I went to today out at willowbank run by the track attack guys. Was the first time iv'e skided it in the dry and once again learnt heaps and got some much needed practice in.

It certainly deserves a new coat of paint, but im just too busy (lazy) with work and study at the moment to do it properly. I've already priced up paint and materials, should be able to do a sweet backyard job for a couple of hundred. Maybe over christmas when I get a week or two off.

Was first time on a proper track and I had a lot of fun. Id be out at archy every week if I could, but I got tafe and work wednesday nights now till the end of the year which is pretty fucken gay. Will be chucking a few sickys before the end of the year thats for sure haha.

Will be heading out to the arvo session of the next track attack drift school day at QR on the 7th of August. Already got spare tyres lined up, got a special set just for donuts this time.

Changed the o-ring and the bottom seal under the bearing in the dizzy today. No more leaking oil all over the exhaust!
Got the gear off carefully with a hammer and a vice. Put it all back together and although I don't have a timing light it's running ok. It needs a bit of tweaking but it idles very smooth at 1100rpm.

Heres the part numbers from CBC bearings if anyones interested -
plain encased seal - High temp Viton red - TC12379VI
    O-ring - BS217

Theres another oil leak somewhere near the crossmember, probably from the oil temp/pressure plug, should be an easy fix as well.
