    Just the barrel/cylinder?

Insert key, Turn to 'on' position.
With the cover off, if you look at the top of the barrel there is a hole. In that hole is a pin. Push it down with a small drill bit, screwdriver, or whatever you have handy.

    It'll slide right out.

if you dont have a key you will have to drill out the pin and then the barrel will slide out

just take your drivers door barell to get a key cut.

they only need to read the code off the barell too. and look it up in their computer.

Drivers side door has been shaved i got a key cut from passenger side but must be a different lock. I tried to remove the whole unit from the steering colum but it wont budge. So will I have to actually drill the pin out?

Might as well just unbolt the whole steering column and take it to the guy. If you have a hatch/trunk lock still you can have him match the key to it.

You drill it out, and you will have to buy a new lock cylinder.

Yeh I think the whole thing is attached to the steering collum.

Gayer than AIDS.....$150 for a key as i have to get a mobile locksmith.

pin is right, done it twice and its a pain especially because the barrel casing is cast and very soft. I used a small screw driver to lever the barrel out as well as trying to hold the pin down.
