1. ae71 tailshaft if using a t50 gearbox
2. yes
3. you can use the pump but not the top part i think
4. look in the tech section but i dont think anyone has made a full wire guide for 4ag in ke70 yet
Sorry if this has been covered a hundred times guys but ive got a couple of quick questions
on putting a smallport 4age into a ke70 as im gettin back into the rolla game, left the dark side behind.
1. Which tailshaft(combination?) will i need if i am running a standard ke70 borgy diff.
2. Is it possible(has it been done) to run a high pressure external pump such as a vl pump and just use the standard ke70 fuel pickup and a high pressure filter. im guessing id have to keep it above 1/4 of a tank?
3. Can i use the rwd waterpump setup off a 4ac or does it have to be off a jdm 4ag?
4. can anyone point me in the direction of a wireing guide?

Sorry to hijack your thread, i'm doing the same conversion and have wondered if i retain all FWD pullies / waterpump etc, mount it in RWD format, will i have any issues with cooling.
Thinking of using a davies craig thermo fan to keep the radiator cool.
As for wiring guide, i'll probably write one up over the next few weeks.
ive used everything FWD on my engine and no dramas, its a bit messy with the remote thermostat but it all works.
you dont need such an expensive thermo fan, though they are good. my thermo fan is only needed once the car has been sitting still for more than 10mins. so it rarely comes on (standard ae71 radiator too)
as for the fuel pump, yes its possible, but the pump wont like you for it. pumps arent design to "suck" fuel. so what tends to happen is the pump cavitates and makes an AWEFUL noise, and it will make you want to do angry things.
spend an extra $200 and use the VL intank lift pump, mount it into your tank, and mount a surge tank under the car with your high pressure pump.
ive done this and its BRILLIANT. no noise at all and no fuel starvation.
check out my build thread for pics, and i wrote a tech artical on the surge tank too.

thanks for the replies, yeah i figured it wouldnt be great for the fuel pump, but it certainly would be easiest to setup.
i have a surge tank and a small lift pump but my surge tank is pretty big, dont know where i would put it lol
ke70 dave could you take some pics of the way you setup your cooling system, i have all the fwd stuff aswell, just wanna see exactly how messy it is lol
