Default Few Q's, Wiring + Plugs Heater Core Box, Fuel Gauge

    Car - AE86

    motor - 4AGE

    use - Daily

    problem -

    Hi,

Just got my 86 and in the process of getting it registered in WA, I am reinstalling the heater core/box interior bits and have a few questions.

    1. There is a white plug (see above (bottom of picture)) in the back of the heater core box and I found the relevant plug on the engine(/body?) loom but it plugs in both ways with no indication which direction is correct. The other green plug (as seen in the picture below) can only be plugged in 1 direction. Um question is whether there is a proper direction for this.

    2. Also regarding that picture, my relays are inside the compartment due to the previous owners wiring, and I'm not sure if that brown wire came off one of the tabs for ground of another relay and I accidentally pulled it off the ground? Possible to tell from just this picture before I take it to my mechanic?

    3. Fuel gauge stopped working after I filled up a full tank of fuel, was working (on 1/4) before. Where should I start to diagnose this?

    4. When I had my dash out was checking the bulbs behind the dash and found one to be blown, bulb size 74 aka T5. Went to get a new bulb but they asked me what wattage it is??? I only know that a car is 12-14V. Can someone tell me what the wattage is for the cluster bulbs? I have searched all the manuals available here and AEU/club4ag

3 - check the fuel sender in the tank, you may need to bend the thingy so it contacts again.

4 - i think they are 5w, pull another one out and take it in and get them to multi meter it.

Which terminal on the relay does the brown wire go to? What does the relay do? Does the pin opposite it have power at whatever position on the keybarrel?

    I found another loose wire

Here is a photo which I've tried to label whats going on

and here are a couple other photos

    This is the "loose wire"

    Going to the rear relay

Might take it to my mechanic, seems a long shot to get it sorted over a forum.

The terminal the original loose wire is opposite one going into the harness =/ I am not sure what the relay does and I will borrow a multimeter to check whether it has power on ignition but I don't have one ATM.

Any guesses on the plug at the back on the heater core box?

    Cheers
