Too low. It's supposed to be a 12v signal.

Hey Guys
In my MX73 how many volts should i see going through the signal to the starter?
Problem is my starter (sr20) now isnt turning over but only reads 1.4v through the signal. too low?
Cheers

nah when cranking it should see about 8
that's a kinda low.. no matter what a battery should drop more than a 9V level and if you have more than 1 volt in voltage drop in your signal wiring you need to do the good old relay upgrade.

even with a start button I suggest it, the bonus being you can run the tiniest wire to the switch and it won't matter.

found a spare relay so just going to wire it in and off we go, hope it fixes the starting problem
button = unnecessary = to much spent on car lol
Well Everyone figure this out
Car was running all good. Turned it off, put wheels back on and then went to start it, no luck.
fuses are fine, when i turn the key to start, I get Ignition power (relays, thermos etc)
I make a test wire with just a clip for the starter signal on the end and put it directly to the battery, Starter doesnt crank and relays activate???
WTF
