Cant seem to find out what model Hilux's will have a diff which has very similar track to the AE86 rear end. Found a few articles on how to adapt a Hilux diff but not so much on the actuall model of the Hilux used.
Any help would be great.

My 86 has a Hilux rear end. I didn't do the conversion though. I can tell you the diff centre is out of the rear axle of an LN106 (89 to 97) model LSD 4WD. I'm not sure about the housing though. Could measure it from face of bearing flange to flange if that helps
The OLD OLD hilux is the one your want... Can remember exactly what model though. Something like the 87 model rings a bell... A quick search should be able to answer the question.
Search for the Dirty Ibis build... that will tell you..
nah needs to be older than that. late 70's is same as corolla
rn25/27 the rn40 early 80s is alot more common and only slghtly wider than corolla. 1410mm apparently.
T18 in the build
Ahh thats its.. rn40.. keep think r140 for some reason... Rn40 is what I have in mine.. Think the REALLY old ones a 1390 or 1380..???
Awesome thanks, an rn40 shouldnt be too hard to find loll Does the extra width in that rear end make huge handling issues?
HAHA.. the width would have almost no effect campared to the extra weight.. they're HEAVY fuckers..
