Default Truck shocks can be used on the rear of AE86? Looks possible to me! Info please.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I've tried searching over and over and couldn't find anything. I've been told by word of mouth that truck shocks will fit for the rear of Corollas, can someone confirm?

Searching through pictures, it seems like it's definitely possible, and THEY'RE SHORT AS HELL.

And if someone's done this, recommendations of brands? Part numbers? Off of what truck? I'm in the US btw so I'm sure you guys have stuff we don't.

Any incite would be appreciated, thanks!

Dont bother, the shocks out of the Focus fit if you are after something cheap. (and can be set to roughly the right rate).

    More... talk to Bilstein/Koni/Ohlins.

Just because they physically bolt in doesn't mean you should use them.
They are most likely completely the wrong rate.
Even if adjustable you will most likely not be able to adjust them within the range best suited to the car.

What are you after? Do you want your car to handle well or do you just want to slam it as far as you can go? (which is what I'm presuming from the emphasis on length)

I was thinking these might be decent? People use MR2 shocks, which is also a totally different car than Corollas, but it still seems to work okay.

think of the weights of an mr2... ok now think of the weights of a truck, damping efforts would be completely different and unless you have some bullshit stiff springs to suit it'd feel like shit, having said that having bullshit stiff springs and dampers wouldn't feel to good for a street car anyway
