Default CAR POLISH - favorite products, good results, horror stories and whats recommended...

I need to polish my car.......BADLY.

what are some products that people have used and recommend.

I know we have a few panel beaters/sprayers here, so i gather they have some good inside info.

tell me what you would use and WHY......

i bought the cheapest one at supercheap, i think it was like 14$, green tin, turtle wax? comes with a little round sponge thing.

worked well, but only lasted about a month or so.

    but it was cheap....

I'm using meguirs, sort of midrange, not the fancy stuff.
Works well nice shine, no swirls.
Lasts a couple of months out in the elements

I am a big fan of waxing products, I go thru the stuff like it's water. cars/bikes always have a very good layer of wax. I use Dodo juice, little hard to come by, but awesome stuff.

Autoglym - The best product that you can buy over the counter.

But you have to make sure you use the right product for the type and condition of the paint.

There is no point in using a fine polish for a faded paint job when it was made to be used on a new car, you will better off cutting the paint back and then applying a polish and wax on top.

The problem with wax is that it doesn't last long, especially if its a natural wax.

I get mine over the net, but carcareproducts.com.au sell it.

I have never worried how long wax lasts as mine never gets a chance to wear off, I find waxing a vehicle theraputic
