S13SR red wire is injector power.
black/pink wire is triggered by ecu, switches on fuel pump relay which powers the pump through a black/yellow wire.
Oversized fuel pump plumbed backwards/spinning wrong way/not spinning is a problem, otherwise it's fine as long as it builds pressure and flows enough for the engine not to run lean. If you had an aeromotive A1000 or something, the stock FPR might not cope.
