yeah someone I know in your part of town tried it and even with that expensive controller it still ran cool. The rep said 'run a normal themrostat', which tottaly defeats the pupose.
Looking at how to go about the coolant plumbing on my track car thats rocking a 7a with a 20v silvertop, ive looked at the 'normal' ways of do things, remote thermostats, shaving coolant fins ect...
Now ive found this davies craig water pump that has a vairiable flow rate alowing for it to act as a thermostat aswell, now on paper these sound good but id like to know if anyone had experianced these things first hand or know how well they do their job as both pump and thermostat.
Cheers

we have on on the drag car it works fine for 13b extened pp turbo i also know that several osca, gt1, gt2 and club cars use them and work well
I have one of these on the uni's sae car. You need the controller - or motec pdm/ecu. Its expensive but works pretty well - the controller replaces the thermostat, dont know why some people out there say you should use one still though, as sam said, it defeats the purpose. I think the best thing about it is the pump can remain functioning once you turn of the engine. so yeah in summary; good product but pricey.
