    Default rotary conversion

    hav a series 1 box and 12a r5 engine lying around and thinkin of doin naughty things to my 86
    has anyone here done it or hav info
    did rough measurement and should fit
    obviously need to make mounts for engine and box and get shaft fab up but yer any info appreciated

    has been done, i was pretty much on track to do a 13bt but couldnt find any clean cuts for anything less than an arm and a leg, but from memory, if you use a 12a front housing, its heaps easier to mount, and if you use a s4 gear box, it should pretty much come out in the right place. A friend of mine recently completed a 12a conversion, I had pics but they are lost in my old pms, but there is one fellow floating around here somewhere, might have not made a new members ride on the new site but he had a pretty clean example.

    Seen one on youtube in Japan with a 20B Turbo,The thing absolutly ripped.

    is the s4 jus a case of the shifter does not need modifying???

    i think the 20b is actually a left hand drive model

    he used a usdm shell for clearance issues,

    20b is largelly irrelevent to his question

    s4 is same as s5 and 6 in regards to gbox, but the rear housing is different.

    after rebuilding 2 stroke motorbikes you appreciate rotarys.

    yeah sweet i think do it i love the rotary great motor u cant fault a 1.3 lt engine that can make that much power use to own one loved it and regret every day i sold it
