I picked up my block finally on the weekend I had it bathed, Bored, Honed, New gallery plugs and New brass welch plugs.
Painted it up yesterday in Ford light blue now its ready to assemble cant wait!
Also painted my lowered springs in the same colour. I painted the pedal box pedals too just a fresh coat of black.

The last 2 days I've done a bit more work. I got my new pistons onto the connecting rods and painted all the pulleys, cam gears and fuel rail in anodised blue.
The cam covers I did anodised blue writing but I am still yet to paint them wrinkled black.

    Some pics....

Man I thought mine are big port pistons but they could be the same as small port. They're from a big port 7 rib block with no oil squirters. They are different from normal big port pistons in that they have a 20mm pin not an 18mm and they have clips not pressed and the rods are thicker.

Don't know if they are the same as smallport what are the specs on the small port ones? I know the gudgeon pin is the same as mine.

I do still have the original ones and they're very clean in great condition other than some carbon buildup on top. I was going to reuse them even the rings because they were all pretty good but the block wasn't and needed to go 20thou so I have em sitting there now. The ring size are 81.00mm.

They're yours cheap if you want them. Can post pics and measure them with the vernier if you want.

Just looked up on bill sherwoods 4AGE page mine are the same as smallport. Crank, Rods and pistons are all the same as small port.

Another odd 4AGE is one that has red lettering on the top, is fitted with TVIS & a big port head, but has a seven-rib block & a 42mm bearing crank. There are much easier to find around the world. They also appear to have no oil squirters on the inside of the block, unlike the regular small port types which do.

As there is two types of crankshaft, there are also two types of con-rods; One 'big', one 'small'. (42mm and 40mm) Note that the 'big' con-rods are quite a bit heavier than the 'small' con-rods, and also have 20mm gudgeon pins Vs the 'small' con-rods 18mm gudgeon pins.

There are bascially three types of pistons - One for the 16v naturally aspirated, 20v, and supercharged 4AGZE. The 16v ones come with 18mm and 20mm gudgeon pins, (18mm = TVIS only)

Man say $30 Plus Regular Post of $11.50

You can have the lot pistons, rings, clips and pins. Like I said I was going to use the lot but cause the block was stuffed had to go oversize.

Got my engine bay rubbed down on the weekend. I sprayed it too but I ran out of paint when I was almost finished.
