That's probably true but from the outside they look sweet and I just couldn't justify paying $1500 per seat + seat rail. $1000 was my limit as so far I've spent 15k on parts all which you will see in good time when it goes together. I'd rather spend $600 though on these than $800 on some crappy sparco seats from Autobarn it was either that or stock.

A guy had them listed on ebay but they weren't listed as brides just carbon fibre racing seats. I don't think he has them on there anymore though cause the listing ended and I contacted him about getting 2 more for a mate and he said that he was having trouble with customs at the airport.

Its a little dirty needs a clean you can see the dust in the middle where the leads are. That's the trouble keeping it in a steel fab joint even if you cover it it gets dusty.

Anyways all crap aside some real progress will happen tomorrow 5am start.

FYI, sparco seats would be alot safer than these things.
Love this build though, alot of attention to detail going into it.

Yeah true man but they look like shit. Until these break I'll be happy with them. I've never had a serious accident yet and don't plan on it so hopefully they will be ok.

Woops didn't realise I wrote Sparco I meant Saas wouldn't get Sparco's for 800 for two.

Okay so an update to what I did on Saturday. I spent from 5:30am till 6pm on this thing.

I drilled and tapped my intake manifold to fit the air temp sensor.
Fit the clutch and pressure plate and trial fit the gearbox.
Removed the chrome trim on the door jam of the back door that's riveted on.
Removed those plastic black air hole vents behind the rear doors on the pillars.
Removed all the door handles and latches.
Removed the old fuel and brakes lines and fitted all new ones from front to back.
Fit new rear swaybar bushes as the first pair that came with the swaybar were wrong then the 2nd pair I got were wrong.
Painted the AE86 brakes calipers which I'll be using for rego till I put the FC RX7 calipers on.
Swapped the wheels back to stock so it doesn't matter if they get painted.
Removed the spirit wing and sanded it ready for painting.
    Removed the rear window.
Removed all the door seal clips still left in the doors.
Painted the Accelerator pedal as I hadn't done it when I did the Pedal box.
Fit new drum shoes and adjusted the handbrake.
Went to the wreckers for two hours getting Window runners, door handle and other small things I needed.

Doesn't sound like much but I got finished all the small annoying things really. I need to get some injectors or get mine refurbished as they end that goes into the head the piece on the end has gone all brittle and is falling apart like the plastic on the firewall.
Once I get the injectors I can fit the fuel rail and the engine will be 100% finished ready to drop in.

Got to clean the gearbox and put in new fluid.
    Fit the front brake calipers.
    Do all the bodywork.
    Paint.
Then its just putting it together.

I'm going away this weekend so will do the calipers and clean the box this week then the 28th I'll get the whole body sanded.

Weekend of the 4th get all the rust repairs done.

Weekend of the 10th get it painted and ready to be put back together.

Ok so I've been lazy the last few weeks. I got an EPA thingy on my ute so have had to make 3 different exhaust systems till I got it quiet enough for EPA 90db levels as it was at 109db at 4000rpm which is where its tested to.

Anyways on the weekend I got the whole main parts of the car rubbed down. So like roof, doors, boot etc all that is left is rust repair and doing the small rubbing back bits by hand like the door jams, window frames, all the spots with rough edges I cant do with the orbital sander.

Also got the engine totally finished ready to drop in got my original injectors cleaned and flow tested then got some GZE ones for when I go turbo.

Also got everything little painted like charcoal canister and my brake calipers fitted.

So all that is left to do is Rust repair, hand sanding, painting and assembly. This weekend I'll be doing the rust and getting a mate to help rub down the hand bits. so hopefully this weekend it will be ready for paint.
I find this really hard to get motivated and finished. I've been working on it for so long its like bleh I'll do it tomorrow then that just repeats. I wont give up on the project as I've come too far. I was going to once and put it all up for sale but some of the boys here kept me interested.
So hopefully it will be done soon.

If anyone's reading this and has some KE70 parts laying around please check out my parts I need to finish the car that I can buy off you.

Hey people thought it was about time for another update.

Since I work slower than most people's grandma's I haven't got much done on this corolla in the last few weeks. We have the stupid AFL rules to thank for that though too and other prior engagements.

Anyways here's where I'm at. The motor is totally finished ready to drop in.
The painting and rust repair was the worst bit I was looking forward to but using my air sander WOW it makes a difference. I got the whole cars main flat panels done in about 2hrs.
Took me a Saturday from 11am till 5pm to rub down all the small bits like door jams, frames and all the little bits like curves and edges you can't do with the sander.

Another day I cut the whole ass end off and lined up a new ass end I got off another car and cut out all the other rust. Also trimmed the new ass end to suit by measuring the back before I cut it then slipped the new ass end on over the original then marking the inside edge of the new ass end when it was slipped on the the right length.

Here's a pic of progress then.

I've cut more off since this picture. I cut a piece out of the wheel well and those bits above the chassis rails where the bumper goes through.

Yesterday I welded on the new ass end so have to grind it all now and bog it. Also going to have to make new panels where you can see is missing as these were rusted out on this ass end too but the rest wasn't as bad. Seem's every Corolla no matter how good when you take off the factory glue sealer above one of the tailights at the dual panel that it has rusted.
So anyways pics of where I'm at now. Should get all the other ass end bits done on Saturday I hope.

yep- and between the seams around the boot edge. Ours was immaculate apart from the rust just starting in those areas, a real model fault.

Keep going at it, it will be superb when you're finished!

I have been lazy guys nothing has gone on for weeks. I haven't given up but after doing so much already you kind of have some off time. But I'd rather take my time with the thing than do a rush job.

Just got to buy some carpet, Adaptronic e420C, aerial, air filter and some tyres then I'll have everything.
