Default New and need some help!

    Hey,

im looking at buying my first AE86 and ive found one but i dunno if its worth the money or any good. To me it seems a little bit pricey but im not sure. What i was wondering is if there is anyone in Canberra that knows the car or is maybe willing to have a look at it for me and let me know if its worth the money or if i should be steering clear? Ive got mechnical knowledge ( ive just finished building a classic mini) so im happy to get my hands dirty but i dont want to have to do massive amounts of work to it.

    This is the link

    Anyway thanks Blake

for a ADM conversion seems a reasonable asking price (for carsales.com anyway) how much do you want to spend?

hmm u can get cheaper adm 4age, but by looking at the photos this is a fairly clean example, tidy looking motor and interior looks pretty well kept. and 280 xxxkm it hasnt been ridiculously over run like most adm in aus. At the same time u have to think what you want, if u dont mind paying more money but getting a clean car this isnt a bad deal, but if u dont mind to much on the condition then for cheaper u could get a adm with a 4age easily.

just make sure to check the engine compression and so on, make sure u check the window seals for rust and rails for bends in chasis. usual things to check in second hand cars.

i have between 6.5 and 7.5 to spend. I noticed the car had a small amount of rust on the boot lid which i kinda expect from a 16 year old car,but yeh ive just heard from different people that they would only pay 5.5 for it and others say its cheap go for it. So im jsut trying to get as much info as possible

personally i would save a bit more and wait/import a jdm one or get a an adm with a bigger engine ie beams, 20valve, or smallport turbo/supercharger etc. just depends on what you want to do with it, are you chasing power? and how much you are WILLING to spend.

oh right cool. So your enjoying it? Yeh i want to increase my driving skills!!! So i want a car that i can use to do that.

Yeh thats the bad thing i have a habit of getting impatient but im just going to wait until i can get what i want

How reliable can a KE70 with a more modern engine be for everyday driving?

    Thanks for the help

buy benzos ke70 if you have 7.5k to spend on a car.

with a bit of work it could look as good a condition as this 86 +all the suspentions done
