i think it all depends on colour for what kit an e30 needs. Theres a B6 alpina (pretty much a series 2 with mtech 1 black wing, and alpina only big black fuck off front lip) that i see crusing around near work which looks awesome and its red. I fucking hate red cars but it looks shit hot.
Any dark metalic series 1 non mtech looks best. Light or bright colours dont work with chrome bumpers.
Bronzit beige or diamond schwartz series 1 mtech 1 looks best. Must have the chrome changed to colour coded and window chrome stripping changed to shadowline black.
Diamond schwartz, alpine white, any red series 2 non mtech looks best. Kinda like an ae86, just go red, black or white and you cant go wrong.
Alpine white, any dark metalic series 2 mtech 2 looks best. No light or bright colours unless its white. Mtech 2 is very plain and doesnt have enough contrast to get away with them
All evos look good regardless of colour because theyre just fuck off fat and rare.
The e30 im about to buy is alpine white series 2 non mtech 2. Im gonna keep it that way for a while. Im gonna eventually mtech 2 it after i do suspension, aftermarket ecu+itb's+exhaust. But like always first things first, handling and power before looks.

The 323i I was looking to buy sold before I got to it, so now I'm saving my money to buy a real nice 5 speed, 2 door 323i. Hopefully be able to get one for under 3k. Rota Grid-V 15x8 0 in gunmetal/polished lip all round, wheel studs and nuts (rather than the horrible wheel bolts E30 come with) and BC Gold 8F 10R. All it needs, besides an Alpina lip but that's not really necessary.
