Default rear webing supports in the 86.

no real need for template just a question.

can i remove the rear webs like this without affect the body too much i was just going to drill out the spot welds.

it will have a full cage but only to the rear shocks.

i would imagine so as long as you use gussets on the b pillar. is it really worth it tho? sure you would save a little weight but it isnt that high, if you were to do this i would already assume that you are running perspex windows and have replaced the roof?

what you could do is put two gussetts from the pipe of the cage down the crossbeam across the floor. That is assuming your car was like that insane example. Do you have a pic of your actual car?

that reinforces the whole side of your car from twisting. However that said you have a decent cage with an X brace in the middle it would do a better job of stopping the roof from twisting.

This is the cage but that dumb tab and bolt will be replaced with a gusset plate welded in. I'll get a pic of where I want to cut out on my exact car.

Pretty much from behinds the wheel tub to the front door. And where the rear seat mounts. I am going to renforce between the rear shocks and the rear shocks to the floor pan too. Will also be stitch welded.

with the extra reinforcement used in the cage to reinforce the area you want to cut out would you actually be saving any weight?
