all of the wires and connections are insulated so the fuel doesnt eat away at it

Can someone explain in basic language how this is done.

This is what I no correct me if I'm wrong.

First you have your lift pump which brings the fuel up out of the tank to the main pump (vl external pump) when then goes to the fuel filter and into your engine, then the unburnt fuel is returned back to the tank.

How many pipes doesthe fuel tankhave I remember seeing 3 pipe coming out of the tank what's the third one for.
What lift pump should I be getting and how to I wire the lift pump up so when I turn the care on it wont go up in flames.
What happens if I add a surge tank is the unburnt fuel from the engine returned to that and the over filling of the surge tank returning to the fuel tank.

Does any one have any photos or diagrams that may help me or explain to be now I can do the fuel system myself instead of paying 800$ for someone to do it forme

    Thanks heaps

the third line is the breather, goes to the charcol canister in your engine bay.

People have used the intank pump of the VL's before.

easiest way is to buy a EFI tank out of a jap 4age car.

otherwise, get an AE82 tank outlet and extend the pump bracket and wires to reach the bottom of AE86 tank. This will keep the system simpler with only one pump. If you feel like adding a surge tank run the AE82 pump straight into the surge tank then a vl external pump/044/whatever you feel like.

Google spits useful stuff like this in less than a sec:

and remember liquid gasolene doesn't burn only vapors. and even then you need an ignition source to light the vapors. The 12v in your tank isn't enough unless you're dumb enough to leave exposed wires inside the fuel tank that can short out and create enough heat/sparks.
