coilovers for sure. nothing beats being able to adjust heights depending on your mood/cop presence any day you want
hey guys
im looking on upgrading my rear end .
not to sure if to get rear coilovers or a better springs and shocks ,
because i have heard good and bad ..
what do yous rekonh is the way to go ???
cheers blake
springs with adjustable height perches
and here we go again. . .
dose
With adjustable height perches can you still use them to adjust the corner weights of the car? They are just a platform you raise up and down which basically moves the spring correct?
I am with Dave on this one. I say the adjustable perches

so adjustable springs from ajps .. and wat are some good shocks ??
i heard coilovers pumpin through the shock towers has it happened to any one ????
nope, hard to imagine on such a light car..unless it had been in accident and repaired, or rusty in the area, both proven to work well, just depends on you

there is 3 sheets of steel in the shock mount. it WONT punch through.
the ONLY failure i have heard of was at qr years ago, a lad had his bottom mount shear or snap off, but he had been dirt dropping it all day.
spring seats and good shocks, good coilovers... meh what ever. from a corner weighting point of view im not sure if there is much of a difference?
there might be a slight advantage to regular coilovers in terms of keeping springs captive with helpers, but honstly, its either or.
i can get a greater range of movement from my coilovers than from spring seats, but in all honesty, you only ever want 30mm give or take for street use to fine tune the look and fitment. If you have specific needs, ie rally, autocross, drift, circuit then its a bit more indepth but totally within the scope of 38mm spring seats.

Disregarding the the supposedly weak shock mounts, coil overs, from a geometry stand point, are a far better choice than a spring, that is at 90* to the diff centre line. Coilovers will always compress the spring evenly, the spring on the other hand will never compress evenly as the car moves through its roll axis.
So in my opinion a car with rear coil overs, hill handle more cosistantly, as it moves through its roll axis, as opposed to car with a spring and shock, which the deeper into its roll axis it goes, the more different the rear suspension will react.
I may be wrong, but its how it works in the mind of gunner![]()
