hey guys ive just recently fitted a surge tank setup in my car. However now my engine is not getting enough fuel as the car is not running smoothly and is misfiring. Ive double checked all the hoseing and everything looks to be in the right spot. Im thinking the fuel pump is not pumping enough fuel?? Also when i switch the car to ACC the fuel pump doesnt run, only until i completely turn the car on then it decides to pump fuel.
If anybody can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What lift pump?
Twin external pumps right?
Return to main tank or surge tank?
Normal for fuel pump to run on ON pos only. why do you need fuel to listen to stereo/light a cig?
how do u have the fuel pump hooked up SHOULD be triggered off the ecu!
what lift pump?
fuel comes out the tank via the lift pump -> the surge tank -> the main feed pump -> the fuel rail -> to the surge tank -> to the fuel tank!
ive seen lift pump wired up backwards so it works backward
thats all i can think of for now
AE86 THE BEST
hi eddie ive got a facet type lift pump and the fuel is connected up just as u mentioned. I dont really know much about electronics my mate helped me hook her up but the fuel pump is connected via the same connection as the lift pump.
Skylar what i meant was that when u turn the key u should normally here the fuel pump work before the engine starts
Big ports don't prime, the fuel pump will only run when the CAS is spinning or the key is in the start position.
I take it it ran fine before installation of surge tank?
yeah it ran alright alot better than what it does now. Yeah thats what i meant sam.
may sound stupid, but you sure you didnt get the return line mixed up with the main line to the engine??
will still feed engine fuel but no where near enough
