    Default W58 shortshifter? can some one please fill me in on this?

    how to modiyfy the existing w58 shifter stalk?

    can some one plaese fill me in on how i can make a short shifter for my w58 before i install it?

    can i remove the shifter stalk from the linkage and lathe,die&tap a new one or would i have to cut it?? (wich i dont want)

    yeah short; 1; the smalest diffrence in speed 2; so i can use the sterio properly 3; it looks and feals better to drive.

    You'd have to machine up a spacer for the shifter housing, and cut/weld or somehow extend the small 'ball' on the end of the shifter to reach the shift socket. If you wanted to do this yourself.

    Or buy an already made W58 short shifter.

    is it possible to remove the gear stalk [red] (with gearknob on it) from the shifter linkage [Blue] (that the stalk attatches to before going on to the linkage) wich goes into the shifterhouseing???
