another thing u need is a strong diff, conversion will cost a fair bit and take alot of time
hey guys im looking at making a nice little track car. i wanted to put a 13BT rotary into a ke70. just wondering if any guys new much about or have infact done one? also any tips. my plan was to run carby so i dont have to worrie about efi and ecu at the moment. so for the build i would clearly need a
13bt motor complete, a 13bt gear box and then will need a custom tail shaft made. i will probably also run a surg tank. so then there is really only race seats, Cage and guages eg. oil pressure, bost, fuel pressure??? (because i wont connect up 13bt electrics to ke70 dash) i think my only real complications will be engine mounts and gear box mounts.
want to keep the cost down to a miniumn.
cheers guys. Any sudgestion would be great.

i dont think there is a carby 13B turbo.. you would have to fabricate a blow through set up.. If i was you I would just go a ported NA.. a mates rx3 runs a monster port 13B it revs to aprrox 11 grand and makes 167rwkw N/A and it sounds pretty rad.
go 26B
want to keep the cost down to a miniumn. This is the part where your all wrong...brakes , suspension , diff , mounts , exhaust, cooling ,tunes and alot of time if you can do this yourself.. If not your looking at aleast 10-15g for the conversion + other things.. I am not trying to put you off but its just fact.. Strongly suggest buying one with engine conversion done "not reffering to rotory" + modify to suit your needs
go carby, you will have plenty of power of it!
or just go 4age and learn to drive in a under powered car
13BT will be way too much power.
13B Extend would even be too much in a KE.
-1 on the rotors into KE's, and go 4AGE.
J-Port
no such thing as too much power
T18 in the build
ok so for starters ive got mates who are running a 13b in a ke70 they bought the car for $1,500 with a little rust. the engine was not in the best nick but they still got a couple of track days out of it until they decided to do non stop runs changing over guys for 4 hours and keept running after the oil line dropped off. lol. so they have a 13bt sitting there to go into it. And the is no ways thats to much power id rather keep it fairly stock and reliable than having to mod another motor. although there setup was is not the best it makes do for track days. all that has been changed on there car is they dropped the 13b in with home made engine mounts, gear box redrilled and made brakets for gear box and chopped and welded tailshaft, welded diff. what else would really need to be done? other than suspension and brakes?
i think i would be able to do the conversion for 5k-6K with a cheap ke70 and also a cheap 13BT and box. it will just be alot of time and effort. also there definatly is a carby turbo because thats what they have sitting in there shed and it came straight out of an rx7![]()
You will need $1000 diff, $1000 brakes, $2500 suspension, wheels, good tyres, custom tailshaft, big fuel setup.
Theres your $6000 budget before your motor, box and car.
Just but an rx7. Seriously.
