i just use hose clamps for my fuel lines. works fine but im not sure what engineers think? i dont think they'd find a problem with it
Like i've said above, there's absolutely no reason to do this - an ae86 speedo cable fits directly into a W5X speedo drive (cable type) - and it's the right length - then he would just need a cheap ~$100 converter depending on his diff-ratio change.
Good to see you didn't part this out and give up. Can't even remember what it looks like. Need some pics up
stroked 2L ca18-ae86 in the build...eta xmas 2012?
Something that might need attention too is the shifter... The one that came with the box I had was a crap shape, and as per the seat rails I butchered it trying to make it better. What's the best W58 (or W5x?) gearbox rear to use in an 86?
Also I hear that an RA60 or something gearbox crossmember could be modded... anything current on that?
On a completely different note, does anyone know what the going rate on a fibreglass skinned dash would be? I've got one, and although I'd like to keep it, I'd consider trading it for a stocko one + cash, purely in the interest of getting some dollars up.

Where will it stop? Will it ever be finished? How will it go? Why am I not wearing any pants?
all my w5* boxes have had 2nd from left, had to chop tunnell a bit but
I don't mind chopping the tunnel a tiny little bit, I'm more concerned about how the shifter moves. As an example, I put the shifter in on my box and the end of the shifter was either hitting the dash, or when reversed, was back behind the seats. Any idea what donor vehicles had a sweet W5x box position? That's one question I can't seem to get a straight answer for.
Also: I removed my fuel system last night, got covered in fuel too. F%$# it felt good. Walbro external, Facet lifter, surge tank, various other bits and pieces. No way it'd pass engineering though... I want to be able to drive this on the street. I've got a few good engineering contacts but I'm not going to push it. Any ideas on what a baffled JDM tank with a new/ish EFI pump would cost? Wonder if I could trade with someone wanting to go from a street setup to a track setup... That'd be the ideal situation because there'd be no out-of-pocket monies.![]()

doubt anyone will trade. call craig at just jdm imports (forum sponsor) he's straight up and he probably has the tank in stock, he regularly imports them. new pumps arent expensive. basically any late model in tank pump can support 300-400hp.
