Luisi Grifon to HKB boss kit question?

Hey all,
I am currently right in between putting my new steering wheel and boss kit onto my ae71 and im wanting to know wether i am supposed to put the spacer? (see pic) in that comes with the boss kit. Because with it in the horn button doesnt fit? so am wondering wether i will need to just buy new horn button or am i not supposed to put that spacer in?

You dont need the spacer, I think that is used for nardi horn buttons.
