Question heat and fuel gauge problems

ok so my problem is that my heat and fuel gauge don't work, although my speedo and clock still work so the story behind it is that i took the dash out of my car so i could vinyl die my dash, and it started to rain and all my mates were going for a skid, so i though "hmm i could just cable tie my cluster in then go join them"

While i was skidding two plugs touched and shorted, i then noticed on the way home that both my fuel and heat gauge weren't working. so i checked that there were no blown fuses(there was one, but replacing it didn't work) checking all the heat and oil pressure wires were not disconnected and all the earths were not loose. and they are still not working

if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers

    Ryan

I guess test the senders but most likely popped a cap in the circuit board that runs the dials. Open up the dash and see whats burned or popped.
