I supplied the FWD loom for this as it was what was being asked for... Either way, it doesn't matter who was at fault etc. a young member off here has cut corners which he probably thought where ok to cut.

What can everyone here involved do to help him get it sorted?

Kina odd that all 4 injectors were not firing and they went about replacing them all.
Where abouts in Syd are you? Might be able to lend a hand if I get some spare time.

Yeah I thought it was odd too, but each injector was pulsed manually, with no success. From what I can remember, Ryan said they had been sitting for a while, so chances are they were just gummed up. But on the very limited budget (I think he paid under $600 for the job, which included replacing numerous sensors etc) it was cheaper to source another set of injectors, rather than have the dead ones serviced. Considering the fuck around this job was (engine was pretty well just placed in the car, with alot of things not connected or not there), and the amount of hours spent on the car to correct what was wrong with it (was supposed to only be wiring, not finishing the conversion), Ryan came out of it cheaply, he is a good kid, and I made sure that was the case.

So lets move on, and get to the more important issue at hand, and thats getting the car running, with as little coin as possible, cause it is one cool little KE.

Well Ryan, needs to voice up a bit with what he wants to do, I think a few of us, should head over his way, and go to town on it. I'm not at that shop anymore, and don't have anywhere to work out of for a month or so, so I'm a bit stuck in that regard, but I'm sure we can work something out.

Ok it was a cheaper build but thats because mostly assembly and machine work was done. We agreed on a price (which went up due to what he found). I supplied 90% of the parts for the rebuild which were all quality parts - acl bearings, arp rod bolts, trd headgasket, new toyota genuine headbolts etc. sure the motor a few problems but isn't the idea of a rebuild to fix or rectify the problems with an engine? ok sure the gasket kit was a generic brand but matt said you couldn't get toyota genuine vrs kits for this engine so the next best thing. I never said I wanted it done ASAP - it took longer than matt said it would but i was OK with this. And when any issues with the engine were brought up, i asked the advice/recommendation of the builder what to about these issues and went with it.

as for not going oversized pistons, i asked matt what his thoughts were. He asked what i would be using the car for, told him street use and some track work. He said as long as i used a thick good quality oil and made sure i kept an eye on my oil levels, using the standard pistons should be fine it may be a little noisy on warm up.

cheers dude, depending on how my engine turns out i might hit you up for that.

yea thats what i thought but we tried everything, and they just weren't pulsing. i live near Gladsville, so its a bit of a trek for you to get to. but if you could that would be great

    cheers man hope so too.

yea they had been sitting for a few months so that could have been it. haha cheers dude, am also keen on getting this thing running

hmm this could be arranged, have a few little things i need to get done first (get some parts and the head sent of to get checked out) but may organise one

yea it would be good if i could get a hand from some of you guys. Theres a few things i've never really done before (pulling a head off, setting timing (guessing if you take the head off you put the timing out and it will need to be re set)) that have to be done and would be good to have people there who have done it before to save me from screwing something up. i've got most of the tools and equipment needed to do everything, unless there is a strange specialist tool needed to replace a rear main seal or pull a head off.

yea probs just need to be cleaned and flowed to fix them, have to get that done with one of the sets i've got anyway. ok ill see how i go, hoping that its just the valve clearances that need doing, but if its something more major ill give you a yell.

Main things i need to get done on the car are:
    - replace rear main seal
    - take head off and send it off to get checked out and get spark plug hole re tapped.
    - change sensors over to ae82 ones and hook them up
    - if that doesn't help the running rich then see if i have a vacuum leak
