    thanks man, used VHT black vinyl die i the vinyl parts and matte black paint on the plastics.

    ok so got the gearbox and diff back today. The diff is sweet, just needed a bit of adjustment and is tight as now. Bad news was that my box was gone

    so have been hunting around for a new one.




    Am unsure what to get tho, the guy at the gearbox place said that it broke because of constant clutch dropping. And the next box is going to get the same treatment so don't know whether its worth going for something like a w55? i know most people only use them for big power set ups, but if my next t50 isn't going to last very long maybe its worth it for more reliability. what do you guys reckon?

    Build it so it doesnt break, but mechanical sympathy goes a long way young ryan.

    yea thats what i was thinking that but surely t50 will hold up with standard power drifting?could it be that my old box was flogged out and just finally let go?(the box was fairly hard to get into 3rd and would crunch occasionally). haha mechanical sympathy and drifting don't go together.

    build one, backlash and shit clearances will cause things like that to happen, a lot of people running t50's behind 4ages, that cop a lot more abuse then yours (can garentee it)
    i know someone with a t50 that has fucked bearings, if you need something cheap for parts

    my diff only had a fairly small amount of backlash, but yea might of been that. ok so a good condition t50 should be fine behind a standard t50? cheers for the offer man but i think ill just get a new box and if that goes ill probs just fork out for w55 conversion.

    anything with mating gears can have back lash(eg your box), having a large clearance or backlash , whne you clutch kick it smashes the gear together harder, smashing them

    like if you go to undo a bolt with a spanner, you put your weight on it doesnt crack the bolt, so you hit it with your hand instead of jsut pushing it, and it cracks(comes undone) exept your detinating gears XD

    ohhh i thought only diffs got backlash, cheers for the info didn't think there was that much play in the in the box, but then again i never really properly checked it so could have been that.

    Guess ill just grab another t50 then.

    Got a set of wheel nuts for the car, they're only cheap steel ones. But the way i see it is that there going to get wrecked with constant tyre changing so no point getting alloy expensive ones.
