I just went for a mission down the street to a secluded area. I had to get away from my neighbors earholes. In my arsenal I had a g-clamp, vice grips, two really big flatheads, 2 sockets, a screwdriver, two spring clamps (now I think about it...wtf) needle pliers, normal pliers and a 4ac alternator bracket.

It was time to kill the old throwout bearing. I placed the alternator bracket down. The sleeve holding the bearing fits nicely through a little 'fork' type part of the bracket, leaving the bearing caught on this fork. I had a socket that fit on top of the sleeve, but inside the bearing. 2 hard hits with a hammer and it the sleeve fell straight to the ground!

I had a socket slightly bigger than the last one (fits perfect on the inside casing of the bearing) and used it to bash the socket softer and evenly about 30-40 times until the new nachi bearing was all the way down. Job done, approx 6-7 mins. forget about all those other tools! (who needs a specialized bearing puller tool when you have a perfectly fine alt bracket)

Good work hey dude , im basically doing the same thing with my ke70, I imagine the lack of space you must have in your single garage , ive got a big shed and i still feel cramped , everywhere you walk has something on the floor , every wall has something leaning against it. Im doing a 2 pack paint job on mine , ive sprayed the etch primer and primer/filler already , doing the same as you and waiting till my engine has been swapped to do the colour. Those photo's you have of the water system really helped me. If you look at my car thread you will see what i mean. I was fortunate and bought a whole complete loom with ecu and all the bits from someone in brissie. Its still gonna need extending but at least it can be done 1 wire at a time. Good work anyway man. Ill keep checking this thread.

OH i feel your pain with the rust , my ke70 was almost rust free , fortunately for me my rusty parts were in non visible places so my "deadly accurate" sanding after the bog didnt have to be so good

I envy your loom haha just didnt want to fork out the extra dosh to buy a proper one or an aftermarket ecu etc... Maybe i'll get one down the track little.. Yeah i had many spots that took ages to get perfect when i was sanding mine lol.. good luck with your build looks like its gonna be good

Bit of an update... Have been a bit tight on money but finally found a dizzy for my engine, got ripped off hard but not much i could do as it was taking months to find one and rang up like 50 different places. So I paid $185 for it reluctantly.. Trying to hold off buying an engine crane to drop the 4AGE in in case i can borrow one from somebody. Main things left to do are:

    - Drop in engine & run wires through firewall
    - Mod cooling system
    - Bolt up intake manifold and do air filter piping
    - Sort the fuel system
    - Buy and fit full exhaust

if anyone in sydney has an engine crane I could borrow for a day It'd be much appreciated.
