upgrading to a more modern car.
Hey People,
Just interested in peoples experiences who have moved on from thier 86 to a more modern car. How do you feel now and are you happy with your current ride. Its always a thought at the back of my mind that I want something more modern.

its not the same. driving gtr's, wrx's, nissan 2L's dont have the same feel. much more comfortabe but not the same.
only newer car id happily own instead of a ae86 is a mx5 but id want a hardtop.
havent had any experience with s2000's but i hear theyre nice but over-rated especially for the price.
just go to your nearest capital capital cityand take some cars around for test drives from car lots. see if theres anything that tickles your fancy

Yeah Ive driven lots of different cars, jdm 89 MR2, 98 Beams MR2, Skyline R33, WRX's, integra's, Civics, blah blah and lots more. They all have a nice modern and comfortable ride but they dont have that spark of something different like the 86. I love my car more than anything but honestly as and everyday driver.....It pisses me off. its a love hate relationship. I cant see myself selling it ever and I know I'll miss it when I do.
Keep the AE86, the get a daily.
For me it's gonna be an IS200 or 300

ae86 are the best......if you dont have to drive it EVERYDAY.
Comfort and shit's overated. I'd prefer to drive my ae86 than an S class merc because one's fun to drive and the other isn't, simple as that. You'd be kicking yourself when you come across a fun stretch of road and your in the daily, you just know you'll be thinking, damn wish I had my ae86 with me right now. But nope, you bitched out and drove the daily so your loss.
the constant maintenance on a daily ae86 is fucking rediculous, i racked up 9000km in 3 months, all the shit i gotta fix from doing that is just rediculous (all after the lucky 2.5 year stint of 0 problems)
imo stuff upgrading, just buy a daily and keep the ae86 for fun times
probs a 180sx still fun but in a different way to the hachi's and still comfortable as a daily
