No worse than a factory 16v ecu....
Thanks mate, and yeah I have been looking around and their is a few e6 type ecu's out there. Just a matter of finding one at the right price, the reason I suggested the later sport 500 is because there only $850, and all the e6 types I have seen are around that price anyways. I think I'l just have a good talk to my tuner and then go from there.
No worse than a factory 16v ecu....
kuc at pro automotive did mine as well. $500 to give a 16v with quads a straight tps tune! Which is pretty damn good considering he quoted me $600 upwards! This is in my daily driver ae71 and i've been driving it for like 2 years now. Only time I have trouble is cold mornings and even then its more the battery than the tune, for some reason my battery is always going a little flat, so that I only get one or two tries at starting or the voltage seems to drop too low for the ecu to work. is pretty damn rich though! I would suggest that you should get a wide band sensor installed as this will give you a better tune! But all round pretty happy with the tune! I'm thinking about going to gtgarage for my next one but i don't know.
Oh yeah and mine was an adaptronic ecu a really old one. he said he hasn't seen any before but he managed to tune it fine.
Launceston = Home of the surprise sodomist!!
what about a freedom ecu for a 20v? and I'l just mod the loom to make it work. I suck with ecu's so opinions would be great!
DO NOT do that unless you have a tuner lined up for it that's worked with it and is happy with it before.
Just get a sprint 500, adaptronic e420d or link G4 atom. They'll all run the engine fine, IIRC the sprint 500 will end up with one more output than G4 atom but your fan, fuel pump and VVT are covered at least. Adaptronic has more aux inputs and outputs than both but what're you gonna do with them.
