I would say go ahead and get the ebay flywheel and clutch (if those are the things you need to get your car going). Ebay do have some good deals from USA at the moment.

You would be buying it mostly for the lightweight flywheel. I have ordered something similar. It will give better acceleration, good for circuit and some hillclimb tracks. (I have seen a light flywheel cause missed gears and lost momentum on a tight hillclimb course). For casual drifting, the light flywheel may make things worse. So decide if that's what you want, or just swap it out later. The F1 Racing brand is not known to use, but its solid alloy steel so I can't be too bad.

A normal style clutch is OK, that is what I run. For a non-turbo setup I'm fine with spending money everywhere else and running a stock clutch. Maybe for drift you want a good clutch and old tyres, and stock flywheel.

i dont understand why people use a harsher clutch with a t50 and 4ag with less than 250hp. youre just killing your t50 for minimal performance gain if any. a standard clutch and a pressure plate with 30-50% more pressure than standard is what you should be using.

youll be replacing clutches 30-50% quicker but you shouldnt have to replace t50 gearboxes at all.

id be happy with that ebay kit

Clay, Oh it is a good price don't get me wrong compared to other clutch shops i rang around to. not sure about jworks delivery costs (assuming $20), but these three in particular on ebay work out to be around $250 after delivery:

Zac, thanks for mentioning that.. i didn't know, I told him in my email that i am mating it up to a t50 rwd box so hopefully he is going to throw the right one in (probs wont though i have a feeling) I've already paid for it, so it should get here early next week. I'll ring him tomorrow to see if he can put the correct throw out bearing in with it.

Thanks for your opinions Dan & Jonathan... I've already purchased the Exedy HD clutch, so i guess that will have to do... lol. more expensive too...damn well now I sort of feel like getting the original kit I posted but what can you do....

For the flywheel, i don't completely understand why it could be bad for drifting? I understand The lighter flywheel will help get the engine up to higher revs quicker, meaning better acceleration, but does the heavier flywheel help keep momentum while your wheels are spinning? (just my theory lol)

    it'll help for clutch kicks.

newton's first(?) law of inertia. basicaly meaning if dump your clutch at say 4000rpm it will have more of a tendency to keep spinning thus spinning the wheels. however if you dont have much rotating mass in your drivline there wont be as much inertial energy to break the rear wheel traction (well there might but you get my point...) and the engine will just bog down

well thats my own theory, not sure if itsactually fact??? sounds pretty smart like tho lol

ps i never knew there were so many cheap flywheels for a 4age lol i always like to support site sponsers where i can though. but if moneys tight, a flywheels a flywheel is a flywheel

i see your theory and that's basically how i sort of understood it, but if you think of it this way: when you kick the clutch, it should also be more effective getting the revs back up again in that short kick because the flywheel is lighter so the actual kick itself will be shorter to make the same effect as with a heavier flywheel. But yeah once your foots off the clutch again (after clutch kicking) the revs will also drop down quicker with a lighter flywheel and bog down also like you said because it has less inertial energy (?) lol, just my theory i made up again, fuck we're smart. I reckon the good points only slightly outweigh the bad (unless your skidding) but i think i'll be doing a fair bit of sliding so i think i'll just stick to the stock flywheel, but if anyone is interested, it costs $98 for shipping to syd for flywheels from those links i posted (quoted from "gripforce") if you want flywheel and clutch its $150 for shipping FYI

never mind, I found my answer here!

(Sometimes the 212mm clutch is referred to as 215mm).
