I’m thinking the "TRD" colour scheme will be too hard to achieve a good result on our limited "the paint will get fucked anyway cause its a rally car" budged. More the fact im going to need to repaint something at some stage and a base "racing white" like Karl mentioned will be easier to respray.
I was thinking with the Toyota Team Australia decals to just do as Karl mentioned again and base white with red sticker vinyl for the red stripe. If anyone has some any photographs of the TTE hatch or knows where I can find more please do share.

As promised my stage by stage write up of last weekend’s 2009 Wirrabara Forest Rally.
Saturday 3rd October.
Saturday was our designated day for recce. With Wirrabara receiving around 150mm of rain in the past week we were expecting for it to be fairly muddy. Little did we know that much of the roads were completely fucked by other competitors using 4wd’s for recce. We got bogged 3 times. By the end of the day we only managed one pass of all 5 stages. Even tho we were allowed 3. So it was a hit or miss with our pace notes.
Sunday 4th October
10:00am First car left Service Park. By this time I was starting to get butterflies but we were all good. By around 10:45 we left for our first transport to SS1 Airstrip 1
SS1 Airstrip 1 2.22km long: This had potential to be a good stage with its 500m long straight. But due to the large amount of rain the road was cactus by the time we got our run through. We struggled for grip and only managed to top 3rd by the end of the straight.
SS2 Mt Ellen West 1 13.8km long: This was the longest stage of the day but sadly it was cut back from 20.23km to 13.8 due to deep mud. It was good that we had Airstrip to warm the cars up as I had really gotten into the swing of how the car was handling. Our pace notes were spot on, it was brilliant. We had the confidence to dive deep into corners that I would usually take with much caution. For over a kilometre on this stage it was constant crests with fairly full flowing creeks and an average speed of around 120km/h. We would come over a crest and instantly into a water splash. Once we reached 3.9km into the stage it was a 5 right up into the pine forest, this is where it got really fun. Driving full stick through the pine forest was brilliant but slightly scary as one bad note and it was game over. But we stuck to our guns and pulled out a fairly fast time of 12:32, which is about spot on with the mid running WRX’s and EVOs. We were well chuffed to say the least.
SS3 Watts Mallee 1 12.78km long: This also was a great stage but a real car killer. We pulled into the start control and were instantly greeted by a 7 year old boy who was helping at the start control. He warned us that 3km in earlier competitors had spotted some sheep loose on the stage. Last thing we needed was to clip some sheep so in the notes it went. We got through the stage without seeing any sheep other than that someone had killed a lamb during the stage. Along the back of the stage there is around 1.4km of straight with some kinks to 8 corners and a few crests through it, we were able to clock around 170ish through this section. Rather daunting as if we made a mistake it was pine trees or gum trees to hit. From here we went back to Service Park
Service 1 and Regroup 1
SS4 Mt Ellen East 1 5.81km long: Like all the stages this one was a cracker. This stage featured some significant cautions. Out of the whole rally this had the only !!! triple caution. It was due to there being a rather deep unfenced off dam on the outside of a fairly fast corner. I backed off allot through that section as I didn’t need to end up in the drink.
SS5 White Park 7.00km long: This stage was cancelled due to it being madly muddy and not even the 4wd’s could make it through one section of the stage. Shame because it looked like a really fun drive during recce.
Service 2 Regroup 2
SS6 Airstrip 2 2.25km long: The stage hadn’t got any better. It was still as choppy as and there wasn’t any grip what so ever. Junk stage
SS7 Mt Ellen West 2 13.8km long: We were ready to take on this stage like a bull in a china shop. We had an interesting moment with some clay that was uncovered by all the cars before us. The clay allowed us to limiter bash the top of 5th in the thick of the pine forest. At one point we went lock to lock numerous times trying to keep it off the trees. Let’s say the car wasn’t the only thing with brown deposits after that episode. But we managed to chop 36 seconds off our initial time. We were flying.
SS8 Watts Mallee2 12.78km long: There had been a few sections where I had lifted over some crests where we could have stayed flat out. With that noted we went out for a second time and nailed it. It was a perfect stage right up until the 5 right caution stumps on inside steep drop off outside. I came into the corner too hot and threw it in. We washed wide and I kept the boot in trying to keep it on the road. We were heading towards a gum tree sideways at an alarming rate. Let’s just say my navigator had time to point out that looking through his side window wasn’t a good way to drive and that the gum tree is coming up awfully fast. I reckon we missed it by a bee’s dick. Once this was over I got yelled at and told that we needed to finish the rally. Sadly he was right and with us safely leading P2 I called it a day for the Ari Vatanen style driving antics.
SS9 Mt Ellen East 2 5.81km long: Not much to say about this stage as we drove it fairly safely. Funny though, from all the rally drivers I have spoken too they all mention the last stage as being the worst. They say how all they can hear is the car making funny noises and constantly thinking ohh shit something is going to break. They couldn’t have been more right. Once we pulled into the finish control I was thankful we had finished it.
Final Control and Park Ferme: We had finished which is what we had aimed to do. All the cars were checked and made sure that they were all legal. No dramas there. So by the end of the day we finished 1st in P2 and 14th Outright. For our first State series rally I think we did very well. Can’t wait to the next one. Bring on 2010!

It just goes flat across the roof:
Its what i was thinking of for my car.
just an idea but you could go the TTA style with a big vinyl sticker through the middle but with a sort of torn edge like the Toyota F1 colour scheme. It'd be harder to pull off but it would give it a bit more of an edgy look I reckon.
