and also maybe mr2drift you could help me with a good height to go to ? seeing as u have a streeter kit aswell, as im not sure how much i should drop it seeing as tho the kit is fairly low and i use the car every day. which includes local speed humps
I wanna know this too!! But I suggest you to get rid of your kits and sell them to me if you wanna lower it and drive it over humps everyday

what your willing to pay is a different story
I concur, How the car handles is directly tied to how much you spend on it.
If you want it just for looks, eg lower, cut the stock springs and get some kyb non adj short stroke shocks.
If you want ultimate handling buy some kei office coilovers allround and buy the cusco catalogue of other things like cambertops, rcas, lower ctrl arms swaybars etc etc.
If you want something in the good end, but not costing 10 times the amount your car is worth, get some custom coilovers made up out of your stock struts with some koni yellow adj shocks, king coilover springs.... and then run som short koni shocks in the back with custom linear springs. Get some strut braces and presto, your car handles well and looks good.
Expect this setup to cost about $1800 give or take a few hundred if you fit the suspension yourself. Expect more if you pay for someone else to do it.
My last hachi had a 6kg front 4.7 kg rear spring rate, and I loved it for street. Was comfortable yet stiff, without being spine rattling hard.
If it had larger swaybars front and rear it would have been an excellent setup. The springs were trd linear springs and they were very good, the shocks were kyb non adj shrt stroke and they were okay.. konis better though. The trd linear springs you can get off dave (truenosedan) and they are worth the extra little bit of money over kings or whatever.
For my new hachi i have ordered - 8kg front 6kg rear custom wound springs front coilovers, cusco cambertops and tokico hts102r shocks allround.
I'll see how that goes and post when its in.

k awsome, yea at the moment im trying 2 get info on what spring rates are best for a daily yet stiff for the fang, which is most of the time for me haha
im not going to be spending alot at this point in time as i need a job before i can waste my money away on it doing coilovers etc.. so i will just be replacing the springs with new harder and sorter stuff

well, I'll know what money I have left after I recieve the final bill of my engine swap next week, but I reckon I'll keep the cost low as I hv heaps of other things need to spend on like the LSD group buy on August, bodykits and respray(the car looks sucks atm), and the brakes and seats as well. But I will at least set up a certain height for my car so that I know whether I need any flare on the gaurds before I respray it.
I know if I lower the car with spring, to do it properly I will at least need short stroke shocks and shorter panhard rod, and RCAs and rear traction brackets to overcome the lowered roll centres. But do I need to change the rear sway bar if I use rear traction brackets? from what I see under the car it seems it is necessary but not sure.
Also would like to know whats the benifit the front pair only coilovers give you when you can only adjust the height on the front?
