that's what i thought but a mates cousin said that only fwd were made in aus.
And I thought that the aus ones had 4AC and the jap 4AGE 88kw
the aus delivered ae86 we got were imported and sold through our toyota dealers the same as the corolla is now.
australian domestic market i think is the words you were looking for.
Well your mates cousin is wrong, AE86 never came FWD only the later AE92-101 are.
In a Australia AE86 are labelled as Sprinter and have a 1.6ltr 8 Valve 4 Cylinder Carby engine (4AC).
In Japan the AE86 were under Trueno and Levin variations with a 85kw 16v 4age 1.6ltr.
The difference in the JDM and ADM are the diffs, engine, interior, lights and pretty much everything else.
Hope i helped ya, Cheers

AE86 4AGE "Slowly but surely"
JDM motors were rated at 96kw at the flywheel
as far as the lights - zenki jdm is the same as aus spec as far as most of the exterior is concerned
I know they did, but he seemed to think that, I think he meant the AE82!!!
Dude if I thought some AE86 were fwd, why would I even be on this forum??? I mean I'm dumb, but I'm not that dumb!!!
