I know this may sound like a stupid question but how can the RTA enforce the engine modification Laws?

in brissie they have dudes cruising around in fleet cars with purple flashing lights on them. They set up random checks here & there & can pull you over if they suspect you of being dodgy. I rarely see them though

if you put a 4age in an adm sprinter at the very least you need to change the engine number...simple task...just fill out a form and someone from the transport dept will sight the numbers and way you go. It would be ideal to mod plate it but you can prolly get away without it

The 4AGE engine is the same family as the 4AC, so it doesnt need to be engineered. So the RTA doesnt care.

4AGZE or 4AGTE are much higher power though, so they do need engineereing.

In QLD, you can get away with just changing the engine numbers on your engine since its 4A to 4A and your not changing to forced induction. If your nervous I guess you could get it mod plated but its not necessary. I didnt bother with either on my hachi and cops never questioned it. (they questioned the ride height and modified seating capacity though )

Oh and watch out for those purple motherfuckers. Unlike the police, they know what they're looking for and will bend you over for everything.
