I went from stock s series (3.9) to 4.3 T series, and the difference was plenty noticable. It actually accelerates like a sports car now, not like some kid thrashing his mums corolla![]()
This is for the people with 4.3/4.5 final drive ratios in their n/a 4age sprinters.
Did you notice an improvement in acceleration, or does it just make it easier to keep it on the boil(better for track work) when compared to the stock 4.1?
I'm guessing it wouldnt matter too much with a gze.
Any thoughts/ opinions appreciated![]()

hahhahaha ^ gold
most jap dudes use 4.556 - 5.3
when you engine is revving to 9 ish...u need them to do normal speeds in gears and get through the torque hole quicker
ill prolly run a 4.5 or something in my 86
when we put a 4.1 in a t18 (in a t18) from a 3.7, the car was a completely different one...huge difference
I run a 4.778 in mine.... absolute gold mate..!! When u got plenty of revs... its a good idea to turn some of those revs into torque... makes a big difference!
where do you get the different ratios from i have a t18 diff so it will have 3.9's right?
T-18 have a 3.7 or 3.9, i had a 3.7 with my T-18 rear so i bought a complete 4.1 centre from a TA22 for $50
i bring in new final drive ratios every now and again, about $600 each for a new one tho....![]()
i'll get on to some wreckers, thanks guys!!
Whats the top speed for a 4.3?
