Hey people
Has anyone on here had the problem with the speedo where it bounces untill it reaches about 70km and steadies itself. By bouncing I mean it bounces in 10km ranges untill it hits 70km and becomes accurate so to speak ( it also ticks quietly untill it levels too ).
Any help would be great ( havent had a proper look myself yet either )
I have that problem, but no where near as bad, just jumps a little when driving slowly in lower gears, but doesnt BOUNCE around........
Try checking inside the speedo cable, sometimes it can build up gunk and sh*t and the cable gets caught on these.....
it bounces coz your cable is streched and/or old, the one in my rx4 used to fo the same thing. pluss i wound it off the clock a few times tihs i have founf also does not help, the only things you can do is clean up the back so it spins a bit freer or replace the cable. hope this helps a bit

it wont be too hard to find another ae86 speedo but with most of them being 20 years old they're all pretty much fubar
where are you located?
if your in bris im told this place will make a fresh one usuing parts of your old one..

Just wanted to see if anyone has had the same problem. Have a another speedo cable out of the spare 86 I have so I will swap it soon.
